Called to Serve.
"Love is a one-way street. It always moves away from self in the direction of the other. When we stop giving we stop loving, when we stop loving we stop growing, and unless we grow we will never attain personal fulfillment; we will never open out to receive the life of God. It is through love we encounter God.”
Spiritual Fruits: “Blessed are those who weep and mourn for they shall be comforted”
Ministry Purpose: The Bereavement Ministry was formed at St. Stephen Parish to serve families who have lost a loved one to death. Its purpose is to provide comfort, support and encouragement to the decease’s family. The ministry offers the opportunity to grow spiritually by showing your love and compassion to others in their time of need.
Ministry Activities: The members of the ministry are invited to offer their time and talent, and to reach out and administer to the needs of the grieving families of our parish community. This includes visits to the funeral home, funeral service attendance, prayers for the deceased and their families, sending cards and notes, and other needs as requested by the decease’s family.
